Pastoral care is part of everyday life at Wellington College International Lagos.
From the youngest years onwards, students are supported by experienced staff who know them well and take an active interest in their progress, both in and out of the classroom.
How We Support Students
From the earliest years, students are encouraged to develop the habits and attitudes that help them navigate school life successfully. Through age-appropriate pastoral programmes and daily interactions with staff, they learn how to work with others, manage challenges and contribute positively to their community.
Wellbeing Education
Through PSHE, digital citizenship and discussions around healthy habits, students explore topics that help them manage relationships, understand themselves and make sensible decisions.Positive Relationships

The boarding house plays an important role in students' development. Living alongside their peers, students learn to manage their time, take responsibility for daily routines and contribute to a shared community. Consistent routines and strong relationships with staff provide structure and continuity throughout the school year.
Houses and Community Spirit
From the moment students join the College, they become part of a House. Houses bring together students from across the College, creating opportunities to build friendships, work together and contribute to school life.
Through academic, creative and sporting activities, students represent their House and take part in a wide range of competitions and events. The House system encourages participation, teamwork and a sense of shared purpose.
For boarders, Houses also provide a connection to the wider College community, linking residential and day students through shared experiences and activities.
We protect students through rigorous recruitment procedures, regular staff training and clear safeguarding processes. Safeguarding is led by experienced leadership team and informed by Wellington College's established standards and approach.
