A Place to Live, Learn and Grow.

Boarding at Wellington College International Lagos begins in Year 5 and offers a structured and supportive residential experience within the secure setting of the College and Alaro City.

Rooted in Wellington's long-established boarding tradition, our houses bring students together in a community shaped by shared routines, friendship and mutual respect. Life in boarding balances study, recreation and time with friends, creating an environment where students learn to manage their responsibilities and make the most of school life.

A Safe and Supportive Residential Environment

Our boarding houses are designed to provide comfort, structure and a sense of home throughout the school year.

Boys and girls live in separate houses, with students typically sharing spacious bedrooms of no more than four.

Each house includes:

  • Dedicated study spaces

  • Comfortable communal areas for relaxing and socialising

  • Daily routines that provide structure and consistency

Secure access systems and 24-hour staff presence ensure that students feel safe and supported at all times. 

Community and House Life

Boarding life is built around the shared experience of living and learning together. Students form close friendships, contribute to their house community and take increasing responsibility for themselves and others. Shared routines help students grow in maturity, resilience and self-management. 

Regular house meetings bring students together, while a varied programme of activities, celebrations and social events adds to the rhythm of daily life. From shared meals to themed evenings, there are many opportunities for students to connect beyond the classroom.
 


Pastoral Care and Guidance

Students are supported by an experienced boarding team who provide academic guidance and day-to-day oversight. Night duty staff and nurses are available around the clock, ensuring help is always close at hand when needed.

Every boarder is known as an individual, and support is tailored to their age, needs and stage of development.
 

Partnership with Families

Families play an important role in the boarding experience, and regular communication helps parents stay connected to school life. House leaders maintain close contact with parents throughout the year, sharing updates on students' progress, routines and general experience in boarding.

Medical Care

Student health is supported through on-site medical provision, routine and preventative care and comprehensive medical insurance.

Should hospital treatment be required, a member of staff accompanies the student and remains in close contact with parents throughout the process.
